47 electric matches
For the mythbusters experiment, it was neccessary to fire 47 electric matches simultaneously on a 24 volt system.  The electric matches were wired in a special series-parallel combination to ensure that the required firing current would go through each electric match. The series-parallel combination was realized through mathematical circuit analysis techniques (click here for more details).  50 electric matches can be fired on a 24 volt system, which has one ohm of internal resistance, by wiring the electric matches with 5 sets of 10 parallel electric matches in series (click here for clarification).
